Where Is The Love

May 22, 2008

The blameless righteous holy Lord Jesus died in my place because I was a sinner and he is Love, I would not know my sin if he did not draw me to himself… and how do I still say Lord take away my tiredness, help me do my work, that I may worship you with a free heart, that I may have energy to read your word and understand, that I may do all you give me with joy… how was it that he died on the cross for me, was it the energy he had physically because he had slept so well the night before, or the passion that came from Love that took him through it? Was it not his fierce zeal for God’s glory that kept him going? And what for me, if I need energy and rest and freedom from work to serve the Lord, where is the love that overcomes, where is my fierce passion for his glory that storms over every barrier in its way, because everything is rubbish compared to Christ.

Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, Rejoice. Let your reasonableness be known to everyone. The Lord is at hand; do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
… Philippians 4:4-7

I know how to be brought low, and I know how to abound. In any and every circumstance, I have learned the secret of facing plenty and hunger, abundance and need. I can do all things through him who strengthens me.
… Philippians 4:12-13

Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds, for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness. And let steadfastness have its full effect, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.
… James 1:2-4

Blessed is the man who remains steadfast under trial, for when he has stood the test he will receive the crown of life, which God has promised to those who love him.
… James 1:12

Therefore put away all filthiness and rampant wickedness and receive with meekness the implanted word, which is able to save your souls. But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves. For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man who looks intently at his natural face in a mirror. For he looks at himself and goes away and at once forgets what he was like. But the one who looks into the perfect law, the law of liberty, and perseveres, being no hearer who forgets but a doer who acts, he will be blessed in his doing.
… James 1:21-25
